DEPARTMENT DIRECTORY

The Office of the Associate V.P. and Controller, a unit of the Office of the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer-Treasurer, is responsible for all financial systems, accounting and reporting functions within the University, and consolidated reports inclusive of the Howard University HospialThe respective departments are:

Administration is responsible for coordinating the functions and departments of the Office of the Associate V.P. and Controller consistent with University policies and procedures

Accounts Payable is responsible for the prompt and accurate payment of the non-salary University obligations within the regulatory framework established by federal, state and University

Payroll maintains employee payroll records, processes salaried and hourly wage payments, and ensures compliance with all federal and state tax reporting.

General Accounting is responsible for receivable accounting, and all University and consolidated accounting and financial statement reporting.

Restricted Funds Accounting is responsible for the financial administration, accounting and reporting for all externally funded grants and contracts.

Travel is within the General Accounting unit and administers costs and reimbursements for travel conducted on official University business, and coordinates the University's corporate card program

Financial Programming provides installation and technical support for all fiscal area computing
